In 1988, the Ocun story begins when Pavel Hendrych starts making harnesses at home with his grandmother's sewing machine, using materials like decommissioned brake parachutes from the Czechoslovak Air Force. A few years later, Pavel's hobby becomes serious enough that he quits his day job to focus on it full-time. Since then, the Ocun range has rapidly expanded to include hardware, boulder pads, climbing shoes, belay devices, carabiners, chalk, mens and womens clothing, harnesses, and many others. By 2015, Ocun was not only making its own products but also manufacturing soft goods for other renowned climbing brands.
